The City of Ojai Arts Commission is accepting applications for artists who wish to participate in the 2017 Arts/Ojai Artists Mentor Program. This is the fifth year for the successful program which pairs working artists with students for a summer internship.
Each mentor commits to a minimum of 50 hours of one-on-one instruction over the internship and works with a student to prepare work for an exhibit or performance at City Hall in the fall.
“Although this is for a summer internship, we are starting the process earlier this year. This will allow students more time to qualify without interfering with their year-end school activities,” said Ojai Arts Commissioner Michael Addison. “We are currently looking for four Ojai artists for the mentoring program. We are trying to make the process as easy as possible and they can complete their application online.”
According to Addison, the Commission will have an informational meeting for all interested artists on Monday, April 6 at 4 p.m. at Ojai City Hall. Artist Mentor applications will be available at the meeting or can filled out using the form below.
