The goal of Ojai's Finance Department is to ensure the effective and efficient management of citywide resources, provide financial expertise and guidance to the City Council and City Departments, manage the City's daily financial operations, and maintain the financial integrity of the City.

Ojai's Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the City's accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and standards, City policies, and applicable State and Federal laws and regulations. The Finance Department provides accounting and financial services for the City Council, City Manager, City Treasurer, and all City Departments. These services include:

  • Accounting and financial reporting
  • Budgeting
  • Evaluating and implementing internal control systems
  • Payroll services
  • Billing and accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable
  • Cash flow and Treasury management
  • Real and personal property management
  • Administering business licenses
  • Revenue collection management

The Finance Department also provides all accounting and administrative functions for the Redevelopment Successor Agency fund.

The Finance Department is responsible for collecting, analyzing, recording, auditing, and reporting all financial transactions of all City departments and the Redevelopment Successor Agency.
